Guard loses revolver

Siliguri, April 11: P.T. Sherpa, the bodyguard of the public prosecutor of Darjeeling court, Vinod Agarwal, has reported to police that he lost his service revolver at Champasari this morning.

The revolver, loaded with a cartridge, allegedly went missing from a vehicle while Sherpa was shopping.


Killed on road

Balurghat: Fulmoni Kisku (50) of Mailadanga died after a motorcycle knocked her down at Balapur on Friday. The two-wheeler is owned by Balurghat MP Ranen Barman, but he was not riding it.


BBC tie-up

Siliguri: Radio Misty 94.3FM has tied up with BBC and will broadcast the latter’s special programmes in north Bengal and Sikkim.


Girl run over

Islampur: Ruksana Khatun (10) of Manora was run over by a Siliguri-bound private bus when she was trying to cross NH31 on Friday. Police have seized the bus and arrested the driver.
