Gaya, April 10: A resident of Batbhigha village, under Belaganj police station, slit the throats of three of his children aged between 18 months and six years, before absconding, reports our correspondent.

Raja, an 18-month-old boy, died on the spot while four-year-old Meera reportedly died on the way to hospital. Six-year-old Seema is struggling for life in PMCH.

According to reports reaching the district headquarters, Sunil Kumar slit the throats of his three children in the wee hours on Thursday. Sunil’s wife was fast asleep when the incident occurred.

Sunil, said to be in his late twenties, was mentally ill for the past few months, according to sources.

Gaya SP Paresh Saxena said that he has heard about it.
