| Painter’s protest |
|
His creative instincts aroused by natural beauty and human agony alike, painter Paresh Hazra is an activist who uses colour, brush and canvas as his only weapons. According to him, there are two kinds of calamity: natural and man-made. Though equally pained by both, Medini, Matir Kanna, the ongoing exhibition of his paintings, is his way of protesting against the injustice which he feels is being perpetrated in Bengal. The works on show are a special series reflecting the conflicts, complexities, aggression and violence in the state that have saddened his mind.
Event: Paintings by Paresh Hazra When: Till April 12; 11 am - 7 pm Where: Weavers Studio Centre for the Arts, 94 Ballygunge Place
