Adventure gone awry
An adaptation of Ray Cooney’s laugh riot Out of Order, the musical comedy Double Trouble provides the right mix of drawing room humour and classic farce. Under cover of an all-night Commons session, Richard Wilson (MP and Junior Minister) plans to spend the night with his childhood sweetheart Josephine Taylor, who, incidentally, is a secretary to the Leader of the Opposition. Just as they are about to embark on their secret rendezvous, they discover they are not alone! The scandalous situation is further aggravated by Richard’s right-hand man George Smith, his neglected wife Pamela, an intrusive manager, a waiter, Josephine’s jealous husband Ronnie and a private detective hired by him. Direction: Rupa Hazarika Som.
