Cash cab

How about earning a quick buck while riding a cab? A new reality show on Aakaash Bangla promises to leave you richer before you reach your destination, provided you field a few questions and get all the answers right.

In Taka Debe Taxi, actor Kharaj Mukherjee hops into the cab along with the commuter-participant, firing questions through the ride.

“I found the concept very interesting and unique. Anyone can play this game with us. Commuters who are interested can ask our driver to take him to his desired destination, but before stepping in he has to answer a question. If he is right, he gets Rs 100 and takes the ride with us,” explains show host Kharaj.

For every correct answer, you get Rs 100. But the moment you falter, you’re ‘out’. And not just question-answers, Kharaj may also ask you to wear lipstick, bindi and nailpolish, all in a minute (this applies to male commuters too!).

“The Taka Debe Taxi cab rolls out of Bharat Lakshmi Studios. But we will soon announce the spots from where you can take the ride, so that more people can participate,” says show director Anilava Chattopadhyay.

The hour-long Taka Debe Taxi airs every Sunday at 1pm on Aakash Bangla.
