Robbers arrested
Police on Sunday arrested three persons who had robbed businessman Sanjay Agarwal from Kharghuli of Rs 10 lakh on March 12. The arrested are Ranjit Rai, Manikanta Thakur and Sunil Rai. anjit and Manikanta were arrested from Shillong while Sunil was apprehended from Nagaon. A sum of Rs 2.5 lakh were found on them. An Indica used in the crime was seized.
Man held
Police arrested army naik R.K. Mishra in connection with the death of his wife, Ruby. She was found hanging at their residence at Borjhar on March 18. Mishra was arrested on Saturday after Rubys family lodged a complaint accusing him of murdering his wife for dowry.
Cricket case
Chandmari police on Sunday registered a case against Assam Cricket Association secretary Bikash Baruah for allegedly seeking help from Ulfa to hold an international match between India and Pakistan in Guwahati in November last year. The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by the Assam Public Works.
Water supply
The water works wing of GMC has said water supply to different areas would be interrupted for 24 hours from Monday to Tuesday because of the installation of a new barge at Panbazar.

The North East Zone Cultural Centre will organise a two-day festival at Shilpgram at Panjabari on Tuesday.
