Bengal eves enter

Bengal eves thrashed Bihar 14-2 and Orissa 12-7 before reaching the semi-finals of the XII East Zone Handball Championship at the Joka Stadium on Saturday. In the semi-finals on Sunday, they will face Assam while Orissa meet Jharkhand.

Six-a-side meet

The Umpires of Cricket Association of Bengal (UCAB) will organise a six-a-side tournament at the CC&FC from Monday.

The five-day long meet, with the finals on Friday, will raise funds for the medical benefit of the UCAB members. Selvel, Berger Paints, Hindalco, VCK, ICICI Bank along with Air-India (Calcutta) are scheduled to participate.

Age-group badminton

About 100 shuttlers are scheduled to participate in three age groups of the BPA Open Badminton Championship, organised by the Ordnance Club and Badminton Players Association (WB). The final will be on March 26.
