Contestants punch promises together
- People take it with pinch of salt

Hazaribagh, March 22: In a bid to win the confidence of voters, the candidates are making incredible promises.

Right from providing water facilities and electricity to resources in local stadium for promoting players, they are making all heads turn with their tall promises.

They are also making appearances at the houses of the voters to impress their ideologies upon them.

Mithilesh Singh, contesting for the post of vice-chairman, promised to monitor everything minutely.

Ganesh Kumar Verma contesting for the same post, said that he has plans, which would put Hazaribagh on the fast track to development.

Another candidate Ganesh Kumar Verma said he would change the old municipality act to ensure that candidates could avail all facilities by paying minimum tax.

With the sweltering summer having set in, the candidates are also cashing in on the water crisis plaguing the area. As a testimony to this a candidate has decided to include in his manifesto that he would construct six water tanks to sort out drinking water problems. Another blamed poor water supply system behind the trouble and assured to take steps in this regard after the victory.

Some others also announced to work towards maintaining communal harmony in the area.

On the other hand some even promised to arrange red ration cards for families below poverty line.

Resident Shashank Srivastava said though he was aware of these promises he considered them to be counterfeit.

Another resident Rishi Raj Sahay said that promises made during election never get fulfilled. “Just listen to them and vote for the candidate of your choice,” he said.

We want to select those, who can effectively address issues and get them resolved, they said.
