Imphal, March 19: An unknown person this morning stabbed an elderly couple in the residential complex of the Regional institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Lamphel of Imphal West.

The wife, Angoubi Devi, 50, died on the spot while her husband Maisnam Jatishore, 51, has been admitted to the RIMS.

Arrested: Police today arrested 12 persons and seized Rs 1.3 lakh allegedly meant to be distributed to ensure the victory of Congress candidate Arjun Momin in the Baghmara elections scheduled for March 22, reports our Shillong correspondent.
