Ford small car

Bangalore, March 19: Ford India will launch its small car in 2010, a top company official has said. “We are working on the small car programme and will be launching it in 2010,” Scott McCormack, vice-president (marketing, sales and service) of Ford India said. The company plans to increase the installed capacity of its facility in Chennai to 2.5 lakh units from one lakh units by 2010.

Yes Bank

Mumbai, March 19: Private sector lender Yes Bank has said it has no “uncovered exposure” in the foreign exchange derivatives business and its non-performing assets stood at nil at the end of the last quarter.

Cairn move

Mumbai, March 19: Cairn India will seek shareholders’ approval to raise Rs 2,534.6 crore through preferential allotment of shares to companies, including Petronas of Malaysia.

New Delhi, March 19:The Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council has said the current level of inflation is not favourable for a cut in interest rates.

Naphtha duty

Calcutta, March 19: Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has discussed with the Centre the issue of import duty on naphtha proposed in the Union Budget this year. Re-imposition of 5 per cent duty on naphtha import will hit the state’s showcase project Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd.
