| Celebrating woman power |
|
A movement begun by Rivka Solomon in the USA, That Takes Ovaries is all about empowering women. Mixing art with activism, it celebrates the gutsy and often touching true tales of women’s oestrogen-powered deeds through an open-mike movement, a play and a best-selling book. To mark International Women’s Day, The American Center and Thoughtshop Foundation are conducting such an open-mike session story-sharing and play-reading session participated by women and young girls from diverse backgrounds. As always, they will relate real-life stories about times they have been bold or brash, courageous or outrageous. Featuring first-time speakers and veterans alike, it promises to be fun, audience participatory, inspirational and, above all, a triumph for women. Play-reading by Punam Singh, the Apne Aap players and others. Anchor: Mira Kakkar.
Event: Open mike story-sharing and play-reading session When: Today; 5 pm - 7 pm Where: The American Center
