Passenger found senseless

Jamshedpur, March 15: A railway passenger was found lying senseless in one of the bogies of Bilaspur-Tata Passenger this morning.

The man, aged around 55 and appearing from a well-to-do family, did not have any luggage with him.

Officials of GRP, Tatanagar, recovered the man after being apprised by a sweeper, who spotted him. The railway police first sent him to the Tatanagar Railway Hospital, from where he was shifted to MGM Medical College and Hospital. The officer-in-charge, GRP, Tatanagar, Laxman Prasad, said the man was suspected to have fallen victim to a gang of criminals, which robs passengers in trains after drugging them.

“We found nothing on his person that could provide us with any clue about his identity,” he added. Prasad claimed that the gang might have robbed him between Bilaspur and Jharsuguda.

and not at any place under the jurisdiction of GRP, Tatanagar. He said they would know the details when the victim regains consciousness.

This was the second such incident to have come to GRP, Tatanagar’s notice in the past fortnight.
