Love actually
Prosenjit

While Teen Yaari Katha waits to hit the theatres (the film has been ready since January 2006), director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha have moved on to their next venture.

“Sahara One has taken over Teen Yaari Katha. It’s up to them to decide the release date. Meanwhile, we want to make Jodi Love Dile Na Prane, which is a love story spanning two generations. The film is based on a short story by Sukanta Gangopadhyay called Abujh Meye,” says Sudeshna.

Jodi Love Dile Na Prane stars Prosenjit, Parambrata, Saswata Chatterjee, Kaushik Ganguly, June, Gargi Roy Chowdhury and Arindam Sil.

Parambrata plays an assistant film director, Saswata is a film-maker and Kaushik a producer. But Sudeshna is hush-hush about the “pivotal role” to be played by Prosenjit.

“I don’t want to reveal who plays what immediately. We wanted to explore the love story of an older generation and compare it with the present... Twenty years ago it wasn’t very easy for parents to accept love affairs. But today’s generation is very open about relationships. Parambrata represents this generation, while June and Prosenjit belong to the earlier, rigid generation,” says Sudeshna.

“Parambrata is pressured by the director Saswata to look for a script that has an ideal love story. How he manages to find a script, inspired by a real-life incident, which eventually helps him find his soulmate is what the film is all about,” she reveals.

Produced by Chivach Media, the team starts shooting in August.
