Ranchi, March 3: Catching a glimpse of actors might not be easy. But taking a look at the imitation jewellery some of them flaunted on screens is.

The glittering imitation diamond jewellery flaunted by actors of small and big screens are on display at a five-day exhibition in a city hotel.

Most of the jewellery on display are designed at Lucknow Diamond House, Lucknow. Jitendra Sharma, the manager of the fair, said: “These imitation jewellery are worn by small screen actors in serials such as Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kussum.”

Showing one of the pieces, he said: “The kundan set was worn by Deepika Padukone. It was designed by Lucknow Diamond House after an order was placed.”

The jewellery fair is a veritable storehouse of more than 50,000 American and Australian gold-plated diamond jewellery.

The cost of imitation diamond jewellery ranges from Rs 150 to Rs 1,500. A visitor has 12 counters to choose from the collection on display.

Sharma said they are organising the fair for the first time in Ranchi and soon would take the jewellery fair to Jamshedpur.
