Honda unveils Aviator
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd has unveiled the Aviator, a premium automatic scooter, with a sales target of one lakh units in 2008-09. The Aviator is the fourth from Honda’s stable of scooters, after the Activa, Dio and the Eterno. It is set for a nationwide launch on March 6. Available in two variants — standard and deluxe — and in five premium colours, the product will cost Rs 40,283 at ex-showroom price in Chennai, company president and CEO Shinji Aoyama said.
Shree Cement
Shree Cement has dispatched 6.51 lakh tonnes in February 2008. This represents a growth of 71.32 per cent over the corresponding month of the previous year, in which it dispatched 3.80 lakh tonnes. In the period between April 2007 and February 2008, the company dispatched 55.85 lakh tonnes, a rise of 28.89 per cent over the year-ago period.
Hyundai move
Hyundai Motor India has launched a scheme for the International Women’s Day and Women’s Week. Hyundai Santro will be available for women customers at a price cut of around Rs 14,000. Besides a 0.75 per cent discount on the interest rate, the loan-processing fee has been reduced to 50 per cent.
Genpact
Genpact has opened a delivery centre at Cluj-Napoca in Romania. Genpact provides finance, accounting, customer services, procurement and IT services from its two centres in Romania and one in Budapest.
Central Bank
The Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India has signed its 22nd corporate agency agreement with the Central Bank of India for marketing export credit insurance products through the bank’s network.
LG pact
LG has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Industrial Training Institutes to offer training programmes according to the industrial needs and provide better placements to the trainees. LG Electronics will cover 35 cities by the end of 2009.
BGR Energy
BGR Energy Systems has bagged a contract from Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Ltd for the Kothagudam thermal power station. The contract will be executed over a period of 26 months.
Goldstone
Goldstone Technologies has launched operations in Thailand. It has Internet protocol television services in the country in partnership with Synap Media & Infotech.
Samsung
Samsung has launched Samsung Guru 100, a colour mobile handset having features such as MP3 ringtones, mobile tracker, LCD screen, phonebook and a nine-hour battery talktime. The set is priced at Rs 1,949.
