90 buses to Boi Mela

The state transport department will run 90 special buses on various routes across the city during Boi Mela 2008, to be held on the Salt Lake stadium grounds from March 1 to 10.

“The special buses will ply from all vital points of north, south and central Calcutta,” transport secretary Sumantra Chowdhury said on Wednesday.

The buses from south Calcutta will touch Tollygunge, Prince Anwar Shah Road, Jadavpur and Ruby Hospital, on the way to the fair site on EM Bypass.

The route in the north covers the airport, Bagbazar, Shyambazar, Maniktala, Ultadanga, Dunlop and BT Road. The buses leaving the Howrah CTC bus stand will go via BBD Bag, Chittaranjan Avenue, Sealdah and Subash Sarobar.

Buses will also ply from Esplanade and Sealdah station, the transport secretary said.
