Calcutta: Thursday’s card may be without a plum event but the competition is expected to be tough in most of the eight races on the cards. King’s Academy and the Romantic Notes are the two trophy events on the the day. There are 10 horses, including the three in-a-row winner, Entrepreneur, in the running for the 1,400m King's Academy Cup, the main event. The horse is taking on a higher set – Rt 40-90 – this time and he may be fully tested by the likes of Fort Knoxs and Havanas.

The Romantic Notes Cup is an equally tricky race with speedy horses like Thousand Stars, Bullet Proof, Magic Mantra and the last outing fluent winner, Master Coup out to fight a serious battle for supremacy. The first race starts at 12.30pm.
