Inflation rises to 4.35%

New Delhi, Feb. 22: Costly food items pushed the rate of inflation to a six-month high of 4.35 per cent for the week ended February 9, justifying the cautious approach adopted by the RBI in its quarterly monetary review. The wholesale price index-based inflation rate was 4.07 per cent in the previous week.

Sensex falls

NCAER study

New Delhi, Feb. 22: Corporate India’s business confidence index has climbed to 154 points in the October-December quarter against 146 points in the previous quarter, National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) said in its quarterly review.

NHAI move

New Delhi, Feb. 22: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded a contract for five projects to build six-lane highways of 882 km. The contract is worth Rs 10,912 crore.
