Pharma fest to kick-off today

Ranchi, Feb. 21: Sharp brains from across the zones will battle it out in a three-day event.

The Pharmaceutical Aura Celebrating Euphoria (PACE) would start from tomorrow at the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra. The inter-zonal pharmaceutical fest would see the participation of students from various colleges of the country.

It will be organised by The Pharmaceutical Society, department of pharmaceutical sciences, BIT, Mesra. The society has received 70 registrations for the fest and students from pharmacy colleges of Kanpur, Rajasthan and Bengal would take part in the events.

Chief guest on the occasion will be Pradeep Kumar, the director of AIDS Control Society, Government of Jharkhand.

D. Sasmal, the department head of the society said, PACE sees a good response every year.

“In this event, students get an opportunity to prove their mettle in technical and cultural events,” he said.

Sasmal added that interesting technical and non-technical events would be held.

“The technical events would comprise of paper and poster presentations as well as guest lectures by the dignitaries who will be visiting the campus,” added Sasmal. Some non-technical events are extempore and case study.

The event will also give a platform where students could exchange cultural and educational ideas.

“We had started the society in 1975-76 and organised the fest thereafter. This was earlier confined to the institute only but now it has become an inter-college event,” Sasmal added.
