Father’s tips did the trick for Prakash

New Delhi: An emotional Prakash Amritraj on Sunday described how his father motivated him just before the start of the crucial fifth rubber against Farrukh Dustov.

According to the junior Amritraj, Vijay came up to him and told him about Maria Sharapova’s comments after winning the Australian Open. “Champions take chances and pressure is a privilege for them,” Vijay reminded his son.

“I was highly motivated though it was not my best performance on grass by any means. I was slow to start and was not really serving well. It took me some time to get things right,” Amritraj said.

Paes said he would team up with Mahesh Bhupathi in the next tie against Japan.

The Indian captain said he would want to play the tie against Japan on grass.
