Jalandhar: Defending champions Railways will lock horns with Jharkhand eves in the final of 55th Senior Women National Hockey Championship at the Surjit stadium Friday.

In the semi-finals, 22-time champions Railways drubbed Mumbai 5-0 while Jharkhand outplayed Haryana 3-1 to enter the title round.

Jharkhand took an early lead in the 10th minute through Sarita Lakra. In second-half, Jharkhand continued their dominance and Sarita scored once again to make it 2-0. Haryana pulled one back in the 56th minute through Mamta Kharb’s penalty corner conversion. Amrita Ming completed the tally.

The holders, Railways, took the lead in the 22nd minute when skipper Surinder Kaur converted a short corner. (PTI)
