Hailakandi, Feb. 6: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has strongly protested against the Election Commission’s order for repolling in 371 polling booths on February 12 and 15.

The Hailakandi unit of the AASU is particularly opposed to repolling on February 15, the first day of the HSLC and the Higher Secondary examinations. Its office-bearers have contacted their chief Samujjal Bhattacharyya to launch a movement.

The AASU today handed over a memorandum to the district administration and demanded that the dates for fresh elections be deferred.
