Trains off track for two hours

Services on Eastern Railway’s Sealdah South section were disrupted for nearly two hours on Monday morning when a group of commuters blocked trains at Sonarpur station from 9am, demanding a Sonarpur local. Railway sources said the rake of a Sealdah-bound Sonarpur local could not be placed on the tracks in time because of the derailment of an empty rake at the Sonarpur car shed earlier. The agitation was withdrawn at 11.20am.
