Veteran paddler Anindita Chakraborty defeated top seed Mouma Das 11-8, 7-11, 11-8, 14-12 and 11-6, thereby securing a berth in the semi-finals.

In the men’s semi-finals on Saturday, Sourav will play against A. Amalraj while Achanta Sharath Kamal will take on Sayan Pal Roy.

In women’s semi-finals, Anindita will meet Divya while Poulomi Ghatak would face the challenge of Neha Agarwal.

Despite the upsets, table tennis fans here still have some hope in the tournament, as Subhajit and his wife Nandita reached the final of mixed doubles where they face Sharath and Poulomi.

Saha and Sharath have also reached the men’s doubles final where they will play Sourav and Anirban Nandi.
