Calcutta: Rain continued to play spoilsport, forcing the RCTC authorities to truncate Wednesday’s seven-event card after the running of the third race, the Kariba Handicap which was lifted by Silent Hunter. Last week, the Republic Cup Day fixture had to be scrapped because of heavy underfoot condition of the track. If the wet weather does not improve over the next 24 hours, Saturday’s fixture may meet the same fate.

It started pouring after R.Corner’s Entrepreneur won the feature event, the Bahrain Trophy, the second race.
