TELL ME WHY

Why do horses need shoes?

This is because the centre of a horse’s foot, called the frog, is soft. When the horse is carrying a load, the hoof comes down heavily on the ground, and the frog may not be able to bear the weight and the horse could turn lame. It is to prevent this from happening that an iron horseshoe is fixed to the horse’s foot.
