Calcutta: On Saturday morning amateur golfers will tee off at Tollygunge Club for a chance to play with the biggest names on the professional circuit.
The Johnnie Walker Classic Amateur Challenge is being held across eight premier golf clubs across the subcontinent. The winners will get to play in the Johnnie Walker Classic .
The Johnnie Walker Classic is making its way to India for the first time. With a booty of £1.25m ($2.5m), it is one of the biggest tournaments globally.
The 18th edition is being hosted by the DLF Golf and Country Club from February 28 to March 2 will see the likes of Adam Scott, Vijai Singh, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie and Indias Jeev Milkha Singh in action.
The Chandigarh and Bangalore legs of the amateur meet are over. After the city leg, the tournament will move to Kathmandu.
