ICICI Bank move

New Delhi, Jan. 9: ICICI Bank will “unlock value” in four of its subsidiaries and the process could begin in six months with its brokerage arm ICICI Securities. Asked when the first subsidiary would hit the market, managing director and CEO K.V. Kamath said, “I would think that six months is a fair expectation ... We have not yet taken the board approval.”

Kingfisher

New Delhi, Jan. 9: Kingfisher Airlines will be permitted to fly abroad this year, as it will have the rights of low-cost carrier Air Deccan, which it has taken over. “All three airlines — Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher — are going to fly abroad this year,” civil aviation minister Praful Patel said.

LLP bill

New Delhi, Jan. 9: The government will move the Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) bill in the coming budget session of Parliament, minister of corporate affairs Prem Chand Gupta said.

EOU issue

New Delhi, Jan. 9: With export oriented units (EOUs) demanding extension of exemption from income tax beyond 2009, commerce minister Kamal Nath today said he has taken up the issue with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

JSE stake

Mumbai, Jan. 9: Investment solutions provider Mefcom Capital has acquired a 5 per cent stake in the Jaipur Stock Exchange (JSE) for an undisclosed amount, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
