Dad killed

Behrampore, Jan. 6: A 33-year-old man was killed in Murshidabad last night allegedly by a man he had slapped for eating sweets meant for his son.

Anesur Rahman, a road contractor, was attacked while he was returning home from the local club in Bharatpur, 250km from Calcutta, where three men had gobbled up the sweets. Lal Sheikh, Kalam Sheikh and Babul Sheikh have been arrested.

Truck crash

Krishnagar: Two drivers died when their trucks crashed into each other on a bridge near Kalyani, about 50km from Calcutta. One of them was identified as Netai Nag, 35.
