Wenco, CIL in talks

Calcutta, Dec. 28: Canada’s Wenco is in talks with Coal India for automated mine management systems.

“A lot of Indian companies have invested in Canada and are doing a great job such as Birla Corporation, in pulp and paper, and ICICI Bank. Essar has acquired Algoma, while Hindalco has acquired Novellas. The 100-odd Canadian companies operating in India are doing good business, but a lot more can be done in terms of investment in India,” said David Malone, high commissioner of Canada to India.

Malone was speaking at an interactive session at the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
