Rs 4 lakh robbed

Calcutta, Dec. 28: A cellphone dealer coming to the city from Diamond Harbour with Rs 4 lakh in a bag was robbed in a bus this evening.

Police said five youths who boarded the bus in the guise of passengers from Diamond Harbour took away the money from Balaram Das at gunpoint near Sarisahat, 60km from Calcutta. None of the other passengers was targeted

Steel plant

Durgapur: The Burdwan administration told an all-party meeting on Friday it has identified 2,500 acres at Salanpur near Asansol on which the Bhushan steel and power plants would come up. The plot is mostly barren. Trinamul skipped the meeting over the Rs 8,000-crore project.
