Barasat, Dec. 24: A man has been accused of killing his wife and daughter and burying them in the courtyard of his house in Gaighata, North 24-Parganas.

Mrityunjay Halder, 43, is missing. His mother Putul, who had been told Ruma had gone to her parents with her seven-month-old daughter, found the bodies after removing some loose earth from a mound.

Boy kidnap

Barasat: An eight-year-old boy was allegedly abducted from near his house in North 24-Parg-anas’ Madhyamgram on Monday. His father, who owns a stationery shop, said the kidnappers had asked for Rs 10 lakh.
