Hope weather quickly clears, says Sourav
- Former captain firmly focused ahead of 100th Test

Singapore: It has been pouring buckets in Melbourne, but Sourav Ganguly is firmly focused on Wednesday, the start of the four-Test series.

The opening Test, after all, will be the former India captain’s 100th.

“I wouldn’t say too much excitement is building up... But, yes, I’m very happy that I’ve got so far... I hope the weather quickly clears,” Sourav told The Telegraph, when contacted at the team hotel on Saturday.

Sourav landed in Australia with the MoS award in the recent Tests against Pakistan in his pocket and has begun the tour well Ś 58 in the rain-hit match versus Victoria, which ended in a draw.

Among those who’ll be watching Sourav’s big moment (the Board, by the way, has sent a silver memento for the occasion) in person will be wife Dona and daughter Sana.

Both are already in Melbourne.
