Hands on

Actor Tusshar Kapoor is all set to play a mute hairstylist in Shree Ashtavinayak’s Golmaal Returns, and for this he is very seriously studying the work of his own stylist Aalim!

Aalim says Tusshar is working hard and has been carrying a scissor around with him to get used to handling it like a pro. He’s even been spending time studying Aalim’s mannerisms: the way a stylist holds his scissors, the way he play with the hair, and even what tattoos he has!

Says Aalim: “Yes, Tusshar has been keenly studying my craft for his new role and being such a great client of mine I’m flattered and very glad to help him any which way I can.”

Foot in mouth

The release of Mushtaq Sheikh’s book on the making of Om Shanti Om was made memorable by a faux pas. At the receiving end was Poonam, Shatrughan Sinha’s wife. One of the guests at the get-together started off by praising Sonakshi, the charming daughter of Shatrughan and Poonam. “Your daughter is very pretty. She should join films,” said she.

Poonam thanked the lady and dismissed the possibility of Sonakshi joining films. Then came the tactless punchline: “She looks a lot like Reena Roy!” There was a time when Shotgun Sinha was all fired up for Reena, but his wife did not lose her composure. “Please don’t tell her that. She will throw a fit,” said Poonam, as cool as a cucumber.
