You can feel it in the air. Winter is finally setting in and... its party time! Want to put on your most dramatic yet demure look? Make-up artist Aniruddha Chakladar tells you the tricks of his trade:
Base
Keeping close to actress Aparajita Ghosh Dass skin tone, Aniruddha uses a blend of Kryolan base shades FS28 and FS24. This is followed by translucent powder from Kryolan, shade TL4.
Eyes
Aparajitas eyes are her most attractive feature, feels Aniruddha. The idea is to accentuate the pretty pair to the hilt. A combination of medium brown and purplish pink eye shadow from VOV has been used on the body of the eyelid. The outer edge stands out with a moss green hue from Just Gold.A silver-gold matte eye shadow from MAC adds to the effect. The upper and lower lids are outlined with moss green kohl from Just Gold.
A blend of silver (VOV) and black kohl (Revlon) is applied under the eye. False eyelashes and a fine coat of Maybelline mascara are the dramatic finishing touches.
Cheeks
Aparjita has an oval face with a pointed chin and naturally defined cheekbones. Aniruddha highlights her cheekbones further with a brownish peach MAC blush.
Lips
The lips should not shift focus from the eyes, so they are filled with a baby pink shade by Etude and topped with transparent gloss.
Hair
The wig introduces a Bohemian effect. The length is short with side-swept bangs on the forehead.
Outfit
Designer Suchismita Dasgupta has draped Aparajita in a linen umbrella skirt teamed with a cotton-net upper. Lace embroidery with white cotton thread looks feminine. The shrug is embroidered with clean kantha work. The floral border matches the skirt pattern.
A hand-knotted scarf makes for the headgear and doubles as a stole. The perfect look for a barbecue lunch or a derby. |
