The Star Trekkers were out on a voyage again. Starmark, in association with Mira and Daleep Kakkar of the Kathakars, brought in wildlife enthusiast and actor and t2 travel columnist Sabyasachi Chakraborty for a trip through wild India on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Part of the Star Trekkers Magical Voyage project, this interactive wildlife story-telling session was also accompanied by an audio-visual presentation of wildlife photographs by Chakraborty.
The busy actor readily agreed to join forces with the Kathakars for this very special treat for the children. As he brushed through his memories of his many adventures through the Indian terrain, moving from one photo slide to other, kids and parents alike found themselves lost in trip after wildlife trip, thanks to the actors thorough detailing and exceptional narrative skills, which kept the audience mesmerised for hours. His wildlife pictures were even more interesting and lively, nothing like I have seen before! They really made me feel like going to all those places! said Avni Agarwal, an excited Star Trekker from La Martiniere for Girls.
Chakraborty talked his way through Corbett National Park, Kaziranga National Park and the Sunderbans mangroves while enlightening the Star Trekkers and children of the Missionaries of the World about wild beasts and flying wonders. Chakraborty successfully appealed to the kids sense of adventure. He also informed them about the ills of poaching and other wildlife crimes.
I hope I have been able to convey my message about conservation of wildlife. This session has been an interesting experience and such things should be held more often. The only difficult part was not to know where to stop! smiled Chakraborty. |
