Sudha Chandran in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi

Post her unceremonious exit from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Sudha Chandran is hopping mad. “I am never going to participate in a reality show again,” says a tightlipped Sudha. The Nache Mayuri girl’s disillusionment is understandable. After having been praised by the judges and the audience alike, Sudha was forced to bow out of the celebrity dance show due to lack of votes.

“ I am very dejected. Everywhere I go, people tell me that they loved me in Jhalak and voted for me. Where did all those votes go is what I want to ask the show’s producers,” demands the small-screen actress. Since then, Sudha has consented to be a contender for the wild card round on Jhalak.

Sudha has, however, moved on to a lot of other things. A Balaji favourite, she has just made an entry into Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, a role which has Sudha excited. “I play an investigating officer who has been brought into uncover the mystery behind a murder in the serial,” divulges the actress.

Always one to try out something different, Sudha’s look in Kyunki is also far removed from the over the top, glitzy Ramola Sikand look that has become synonymous with her. “I am dressed in suits with minimal make-up in keeping with the nature of the character. The audience is loving me in this new avatar,” smiles the actress.

Kuchh Is Tara, Ektaa Kapoor’s new serial for Sony, is another project that Sudha is looking forward to. “I play a mother whose son has made up his mind not to get married. It’s a positive role,” she signs off.
