Priyanka Das, 25, committed suicide at her Jugal Kishore Das Lane home in central Calcutta on Monday afternoon. Her parents saw her hanging from the ceiling of the bedroom at 4.15pm.

Police recovered a suicide note in which Priyanka had written that no one should be held responsible for her death.

Priyanka, who worked in a private firm, did not go to office on Monday.

“Her family members did not notice anything wrong in her behaviour. She had locked herself in her room after lunch. The parents broke open the door after repeated knocks went answered,” said Vineet Goyel, the deputy commissioner of police (headquarters).
