Ranchi, Nov. 18: Prospective film producers and directors wishing to create their masterpiece in the state now have a reason to smile.

With a new informative website, created by an academician, filmmakers should not be asking for more.

The www.jollywoodjharkhand.com website made by Marwari College reader Sushil Ankan is an encyclopaedia of artistes, shooting locations, list of places dealing with equipment and accessories and also includes other cultural details of the state.

Ankan, who is also associated with filmmaking, decided to categorise the details of artistes, their contact numbers, locations, sites and other details for everyone to avail of. He had realised that these details are not easily available and people generally do not want to divulge details of other persons who could well be their competitors.

The website done up in bold green letters has various fields naming artists, shooting locations, new releases and news items related to the state. A click on the “Artists” category would open a page showing 16 categories of artistes ranging from theatre personalities to musicians.

The category also has names of artistes involved in set designing and even experts in making rangolis. Ankan pointed out that any producer or director would be interested in locations, artistes and infrastructure that would also include photographers and technicians. The website not only has their details along with their numbers, but also describes their particular specialisation be it portrait, nature or wildlife.

The filmmaker can then shortlist the names as per his specification, Ankan said. The site details all picturesque locations in all 24 districts of the state, he said.
