Bagan keen to sign off unbeaten

Calcutta: Mohun Bagan, having already won the Sahara CFL Premier Division title, will experiment in their final match against Mohammedan Sporting on Sunday, making it Kumaresh Bhawal’s swansong.

Bhaichung Bhutia, Habibur Rehman Mondal, S Venkatesh and N.S. Manju will all sit out due to injuries, as coach Carlos Roberto Pereira will test his bench against the black-and-white brigade.

The Brazilian coach, however, is keen to finish the league with an unbeaten run. “We don’t want to do anything silly and want to finish unbeaten,” Pereira said after their one-hour practice in the afternoon on Saturday.

Mohammedan Sporting will miss captain Mike Okoro who is still nursing an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, East Bengal will play their last match against United SC on Sunday without foreigners — Edmilson, Bolaji and Mukansi.
