Siliguri, Nov. 14: M.S. Punia, the superintendent of GRP’s Siliguri division, has been selected to train with the United Nations Peace Keeping Mission at Vicenza in northern Italy.

He is among five senior policemen chosen for the training and the only one from Bengal. The others are from Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. They will be trained at the Centre of Excellence for Stability Policing in the Italian city from November 18 to December 13.

“We are going to be trained in the laws of the peace keeping mission and their implementation,” Punia told The Telegraph from Delhi this afternoon. “After completion, we will be empanelled in the peace-keeping force and will be deployed in any part of the world as and when required.”
