Need a makeover? Head your scruffy self to the new 1,100-sq-ft Lakme Beauty Salon at 14A Burdwan Road, Alipore (just below Talwalkar’s gym). The 104th Lakme salon in the country and the second in Calcutta (the first one is in the heart of the city at Premalata Building on Shakespeare Sarani) promises to pamper with hair care, make-up and beauty services.
After the inauguration by model Amruta Patki, the salon staff demonstrated the magic a makeover can bring about by enlisting regular customers Asha and Manisha as willing volunteers for a Cool Colours, Hot Styles transformation.
“We want to offer our services to normal people who aspire to be glamorous like film stars and give them a new look with proper consultation,” said Shailesh Moolya, Lakme’s national creative stylist. “Less is more with regard to hair colour as well as make-up globally and the idea is to make minimal changes on hair texture and overall make-up of a client to give them a look that is different and yet natural and suited to their personality.”
The salon offers a range of facials, hand and foot spas, hair spa treatments, nail extensions, bridal packages and even “back facials”.
The salon has a tie-up with beauty brand Schwarzkopf, whoe specialised products are sold at the outlet and are used for all hair treatments. The latest beauty and skin products from the Lakme range are also available.
Services like a haircut come at a pocket pinch of Rs 600 while colouring is Rs 1,800-plus. The specialised skin-care treatments start at Rs 950 and the hair spas are priced at Rs 700.
“The whole experience is meant to put the client at ease and add a personalised touch,” concluded Moolya.
