The lean Kapoor

The juniormost Kapoor who is making a dream debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, reveals how he maintains a marvelously lean and flexible body despite having the typical taste traits of the Kapoors...

My vital statistics: Height, 6 feet and a half inch; Weight, 74 kg

Fitness for me is: A healthy lifestyle. It’s not only about working out but also about having a healthy diet, staying happy and keeping the body in good shape.

The Bollywood body I envy the most: Akshay Kumar has a great body.

The male body that I would like to have: It differs from character to character. It’s not that I want to have one particular kind of body. This film required me to be lean. If a different film offer comes to me I will bulk up for it.

The Bollywood heroine who I think has the fittest body: Sonam.

My fitness regime: I run a lot, I play a lot of football. I work out at the gym. I do weights. It’s a balance that I try to create.

My diet: Is normal. My mom is really health conscious and she makes sure that I follow a good diet. My breakfast includes juices, three eggs and a toast. My lunch at 1.30pm (daal, vegetable, a chicken or a mutton dish and rotis). The same goes for my dinner. I am a hardcore non-vegetarian. I stay away from oily and fried food but I am a big foodie and cheat on my diet often. I love payas, jungli mutton and paneer mughlai.

The body part I love training: My shoulders.

The body part I hate training: My legs.

My best body feature: I really don’t know.

My worst body feature: Everything. I am quite critical of myself.

I started exercising looking at: My character Raj in Saawariya was a huge inspiration for me.

I started working out: Recently. But I have always been a sportsperson.

My first workout: I think I fainted. I had a blackout.

The best compliment I’ve got: I am a little too shy to repeat that.

The relationship between fitness and good looks: Both give you happiness. When you stay fit, you feel happy and you look good too.

If I don’t workout I feel: Lazy.

When I workout I feel: Energetic.

A piece of advice for aspiring body builders: Eat healthy and play sports. I love playing football.
