RIL finds gas
New Delhi, Nov. 6: Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd has struck gas in the Krishna offshore basin. The well kgIII5-P1 is the second gas discovery in the Miocene clastics reservoir in the Krishna basin. This shallow water block, with an area of 1,100 sq km, was awarded under the third bidding round of the new exploration licensing policy. RIL holds a 100 per cent participating interest in this block.
London, Nov. 6: The Tatas and the Mahindras, are among the three shortlisted contenders to buy Fordís British brands ó the Jaguar and the Land Rover, media reports said. One Equity is the third firm to have been selected. The Times reported that private equity players Ripplewood and Cerberus have also expressed interest in the two brands.

Mumbai, Nov. 6: Private sector lender icici Bank has cut interest rates on its special deposit schemes by 0.25-0.5 per cent with effect from November 12. It also announced an alignment of interest rates for deposits of more than one year to 8 per cent.
