What: Lights, an exhibition of candles, diyas and festive gift items.

Where: Starmark at 3 Lord Sinha Road.

When: Till November 9.

Light bright: Starmark has put together over 100 varieties of diyas and candles for this festive season. The exhibition was unveiled by city model Devdutta on Thursday. The diyas in terracotta have been fashioned by artisans from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Orissa and Bengal with individual regional touches and local artistic flavour.

The range starts with ordinary boat diyas priced at Rs 1.50, moving on to painted peacocks, Ganeshas and dolls fashioned into chaumukhi and panchmukhi diyas. There are the fancy diya stands with mirror work, sequins, painted in bright metallic colours and bearing electric bulbs, priced at Rs 1,400. There is a collection of tea lights, floating and other decorative candles shaped like chocolates, dolls, gods and flowers. Ganesha and Lakshmi idols, art thalis, shubh labh and traditional welcome plaques are also available. Miniature diyas and dolls are a highlight for kids.

Voiceover: “After our small collection was very popular last year, we took feedback from our customers and decided to do a more extensive collection this year,” said Minu Jatia, head merchandiser, Starmark.

Pocket pinch: Rs 5 to Rs 1,400.
