Pinky Kapoor answers your Feng Shui queries

I want to know about fire and water elements. How can somebody determine his/her own element'

Nilabja Chakrabarti

In a general way, you can determine your element of birth according to the year you were born in by seeing the Chinese calendar. To be more specific, your actual element of birth is determined by seeing the day you were born through the pillars of destiny. This requires extensive study because the strength of your personal element is dependent on the composition of the remaining four elements according to the season you were born in.

My signature slopes downwards towards the end. My friend pointed out that this was against the principles of Feng Shui. Is this true' What guidelines should we follow when making our visiting cards'

Ashish

According to Feng Shui, signatures should rise upwards from left to right, with the last stroke moving upwards. This is significant because it is symbolic of rising chi. Similarly, your house number should also be rising, though in a very subtle manner, and never slope downwards. While making your visiting cards, keep in mind that the company's name should be on top, followed by your name and designation in the centre and then the address and telephone numbers below.

TIP OF THE WEEK

Avoid multiple entrances to the house because it becomes confusing for the energy to decide which door to enter from! So it is always better to have one solid and well-defined entrance from which concentrated energy flows and nourishes its inhabitants.
