Medical test data

New Delhi, Oct. 31 (PTI): The Central Information Commission has ruled out disclosure of information relating to medical tests under the RTI Act, while terming the relationship between a doctor and his patient as “fiduciary”.

The order came on an application filed by Arjesh Kumar Madhok, a resident of Jhansi, with the Hyderabad-based Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics seeking disclosure of reports of certain tests conducted on his son.

Ragging stick

Thrissur (PTI): Five students of a private engineering college were on Wednesday suspended for allegedly ragging a fresher nearly two weeks ago. A civil engineering student had complained that he was taken to a toilet and humiliated by his seniors.

Girl suicide

Mumbai (PTI): A college student depressed over her poor results, allegedly committed suicide at her residence in a northeast suburb on Wednesday. Khuschi Ruby, a science student, was found hanging at her residence in suburban Kurla, police said.

Tongue cut

Barabanki (PTI): A youth chopped off his tongue and offered it to Hanuman at a temple in Sultanpur. Ram Shankar Pasi reached the temple on Tuesday evening and after praying, cut his tongue and offered it to the deity. He then fell unconscious and was taken to hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.

Lawyer shot

Varanasi (PTI): Lawyers went on strike and staged a dharna in protest against the killing of an advocate, police said. Advocate Anjani Singh was shot dead by unidentified persons in his chamber at Chaukaghat area on Tuesday night.

Paedophiles

Mumbai (PTI): Bombay High Court has said it would not allow foreign lawyers to represent the convicted British paedophiles, Duncan Grant, 63, and Alan Water, 59, during their appeal.
