Imphal, Oct. 26: For the first time in the state, Manipur Weightlifting Association will host the 4th Youth, the 44th Men’s and the 20th Women’s National Weightlifting Championship at Special Area Gam-es, Imphal, from November 22.

The last date for official entry is November 4. The host state will participate in a majority of the events (except for the 105kg and above). Manipur has short-listed 32 lifters and four reserve for the championship.

The 4th Youth National (boys and girls) Weightlifting Championship:

(Boys) M. Itomba, Kh. Anand, Th. Jarshyam, Th. Ton, Th. Arunjit, Th. Romeo, Th. Oken, R.K. Chaothoisana, K. Lalhanba Meitei, Sh. Ratan and Y. Premanand. (Reserve) L. Regan, Sh. Romenjit and P. Karnajit. (Girls) S. Mirabai, Ng. Mema, N. Laxmi, Sh. Jenita, Th. Memicha, Kh. Joshila, Kh. Premila, L. Herosana, Th. Tangbi, N. Sunibala and N. Ibemchou.

The 44th Men’s and 20th Women National Junior Weightlifting Championship:

(Men) T. Bobo, Th. Romeo, R.K. Chaothoisana, N. Nike, K. Lalhanba, Kh. Dhiren, Th. Arunjit, Th. Somen, A. Budhachandra and Kh. Khoiba. (Reserve) Kh. Anand.
