125-run win for Bengal

Bengal beat Tripura by 125 runs in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (U-19) one-day match at the Videocon ground on Thursday. Batting first, Bengal rode Writam Porel’s 79 and Azaz Ansari’s 56 to reach 249 in 49.4 overs. In reply, the visitors were bundled out for 124 in 45.4 overs. Tarak Mistry took three for 22 while Ranjit Prasad scalped two for 18.

Elsewhere, Ishank Jaggi (102 n.o.) and Saurabh Tiwary (103 n.o.) were in fine form as Jharkhand beat Assam by eight wickets. Orissa beat Sikkim by 83 runs.

Jharkhand were 150 for five at close on the third day of the Col. C.K. Nayudu (U-22) Trophy match at Krishnanagar on Thursday.
