WHO AM I

I am a British writer, author of acclaimed novels like The Golden Notebook and The Grass is Singing. In 1984, I attempted to publish two novels under a pseudonym, Jane Somers, to demonstrate the difficulty new authors face in trying to get themselves published. They were rejected by my UK publishers. I received the Nobel for literature, the oldest person to win in this category. Who am I?

Answer to last week’s question: Dan Brown
